5 ways to spice up your mom life!

It gets repetitive keeping up with all the mom responsibilities. Breakfast, morning hustle to school, take the youngest to story time, lunch time, nap time (mine only falls asleep in the car – aka. more driving), sit in carline, pick up the kids, snack time, afternoon sports/activities/homework, dinner, bed, repeat.

  1. Re-do your hairdo. I chose to braid in synthetic dreadlocks. So fun. I got them on amazon, and all you do is section off the hair and braid them in. There’s a lot to learn about care, but that’s what makes it a fun hobby. Or go for a bold change like switching up your hair color. I went very red one time, my 4 year old son was a bit alarmed at first. Good times!
  2. Get a new piercing or tattoo! Impulsively got my cartilage pierced with my bonus-daughter and I love it. Hey, if you don’t like it, you can always just take it out – OR get a fake nose ring to wear! I did that too and had fun rocking it for a day here and there.
  3. Change up your kid activities! Play hooky with your kids for once and go to the beach or take a hike. Create memories that last for both of you.
  4. Take a new fitness class at a studio you’ve never been to before. It’s exciting to be in an unfamiliar space and to not know what to expect. Go with an open mind and go with the flow. One time I took a class at a donation based studio out of town and a small field trip from a special needs school turned up. The kids put their mats down cross sectioned on mine and we became instant friends! Once the chaperones helped them find a bit more space for their yoga mats we had the most laughter filled class I have ever experienced. Pure joy and also a few snores and toots during savasana. Unforgettable lol.
  5. Try a new coffee order. Either switch up your order at your usual spot or try a new place altogether! Go check out that small biz you’ve been eyeing. The switching my order approach is tough for me because I don’t want it to end in a coffee I don’t like. But, oh well, sometimes there’s a little risk in seeking some fun. You never know until you try. Could turn out to be your next great discovery!
